Men's Ministry Council

Ashley loves Adventure.  He has pursued adventure in the jungles of Borneo, the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal, the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, the wilds of Alaska and many mountains, rivers and rock faces in the USA.  He met his bride (of almost 20 years) in a rock climbing class at Walla Walla College.  A few years later they started a life of adventure together in Central Oregon where he finished his Degree in Outdoor Recreation and Leadership Tourism at Oregon State University.  In Bend he had his first contact with Men’s Ministry at the local church and those men, those brothers, changed his life forever.  As mentors they encouraged him to pursue a career in Camp Ministry vs outdoor recreation or construction.  This led to him working at Big Lake Youth Camp, as an Assistant Director, and currently Camp MiVoden where he serves as the Operations Director.  It is a career where he was able to put his 19 years of construction and maintenance management experience combined with the schooling of Outdoor Recreation to use in the service of God.

The current adventure in Ashley’s life, is his family.  With his wife Laura, they have a daughter and son whom you will often find skiing the slopes of Schweitzer Mt., rafting the Salmon River, surfing the Oregon Coast, climbing the rock faces of their local crags and mountain biking the local trails.  In the midst of all this, they are ministering to the hearts of people they come in contact with whether in their local community, church or those in the Upper Colombia Conference.
