Tim Madding — Main Speaker

Director

Evangelism Institute

North American Division

Dr. Tim Madding joined the North American Division Evangelism Institute in 2021 and serves as the director with a focus on revitalization, discipleship and church planting by equipping students at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary as well as pastors throughout the North American Division. Prior to that, Tim served in the Potomac Conference for seven years as lead pastor of the Beltsville Church where they planted three additional campuses in the community (one online). Before the Potomac  Conference, he served as a conference ministerial director in Pennsylvania, and pastored both in the Kentucky-Tennessee and Washington Conferences. He is married to Andrea, a physical therapist and graduate of the Andrews University School of Physical Therapy. They have one young adult son, Ethan. Tim earned an undergraduate degree in pastoral ministry from Weimar College (1993), a Masters of Divinity from Andrews University (1996), and a Doctor of Ministry from Andrews University in evangelism and church growth (2012).

Jaime Jorge — musical guest

Violinist

Jaime Jorge began playing the violin at the age of five. Born and raised in communist Cuba, he was given many opportunities-including an offer to study in Moscow with some of the greatest musicians of our time — if only he and his family would renounce their belief in God. They refused. When Jaime was ten, miraculously, his family was given the

opportunity to leave the country. They came to the United States, where Jaime received a Christian education and violin lessons with eminent violinist and teacher Cyrus Forough.  Jaime dreamed of being a missionary doctor, and in 1994 he entered the University of Illinois School of Medicine. In 1996, he left medical school and a promising medical career to follow God’s call to devote his life to full-time music ministry. Since 1988 he has traveled more than 7 million air miles and has played on 6 continents and in more than 80 countries. He has recorded and released 18 albums.

The Venden’s presentations are characterized by clear, practical, suggestions on how to develop or deepen a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Pastor Lee has never forgotten the joy he experienced when he discovered the difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Jesus. A pastor and educator for nearly 40 years, Lee has sought to know Jesus better and to help others accomplish that as well. He has authored three books and co-authored the internationally popular website, www.moreaboutjesus.org. His sermons can be viewed over the internet and on the various television networks.

He has devoted considerable attention to creating arrangements of early church music and hymns, infusing them with instrumental and vocal character drawn from classical, folk, and world music. His songs and writing often conjure the expansive landscape of the Southwestern United States.

Ortega makes his home in New Mexico, where his ancestors first settled in the early 1600s. Over a rich and varied musical career, he has released 22 records and a book of his bird photography and tales, has traveled around the world as a touring artist, and has received many accolades and awards for his music.
