The second annual prayer summit will soon be underway in Upper Columbia Conference. This year’s speakers are Joseph Kidder from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan; Shintell Izquierdo, former pastor in Upper Columbia Conference; and David Jamieson, president of UCC. The seminar takes place October 4-6, 2024 at Camp MiVoden which is UCCs summer camp on Hayden Lake, Idaho.

The speakers will share rich truths about Jesus. Joseph Kidder who often prays with his students will share how we can journey to the heart of God through prayer. Shintell Izquierdo is sharing a timely message of how to deal with disappointments by looking to Jesus. David Jamieson will focus on How each one of us can turn our eyes upon Jesus.

The theme is “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and attendees will find the benefits of turning our eyes upon Jesus throughout the many aspects of this year’s event including the seminars. The seminars offered this year include Joseph Kidder sharing “How to Create a Culture of Prayer in Your Church;” Richie Brower, director of UCCs new “Serve One More” will share ways to be active in our communities and to pray for our community leaders; Paulet Howard from North American prayer ministries will talk about Pentecost 2025. There will also be a seminar on ways to pray creatively for others that involves creating tangible prayer items.

The Prayer Summit registration the first year was 60. This year, the second annual prayer summit is almost 100 attendees. The leaders are pleased to surpass last year’s attendance. Registration has also been extended to midnight Thursday, September 26.

The Prayer Summit is slated to become an annual event with speakers scheduled for 2025 and 2026 on the first weekend of October. In 2025 Randy Maxwell and Kevin Wilfley will be the main speakers. In 2026 Rick and Cindy Mercer are on the docket. So mark your calendars and hold the first weekend in October for the yearly Prayer Summit.

The Upper Columbia Conference administration is very supportive of prayer ministries. And here is just a small reason why. Attendees of the 2023 prayer summit were so appreciative. In fact here is the article written after last years summit. https://www.uccsda.org/the-impact-of-the-first-annual-ucc-prayer-summit, The summit literally changed lives for the kingdom.
