Featuring

Daniel Binus, MD

Daniel Binus, MD, believes in whole-person care. His goal is to understand and address the emotional, physical, and spiritual factors that influence each patient’s well being.

Dr. Binus serves as clinical director of Beautiful Minds Medical. He provides outpatient psychiatry and oversees the Intensive Outpatient Program. He’s also on the medical staff at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, and a clinical instructor for Loma Linda University.

Dr. Binus completed his medical training and psychiatry residency at Loma Linda University, where he became fascinated by the beauty of the mind. Dr. Binus spent many hours studying the emotional, physical, spiritual, and biological factors that influence mental health. This study made him passionate about treating the cause of mental illness, and not just masking the symptoms.

Dr. Binus completed a master’s degree in public health education and enjoys conducting lectures and workshops on depression and other mental health topics. He also developed a mental health curriculum for the HIV/AIDS orphans of sub-Saharan Africa, which is currently being implemented in the country of Lesotho. Dr. Binus believes that proper mental-health education can greatly improve the lives of people and communities.

Eric W. Shadle, MD

Eric W. Shadle, MD, is on a mission to live life with compassion, curiosity, and courage. He is a Christ-follower, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, physician, pastor, mentor, and healthcare executive. He loves to spend time with his family, read, connect with people, travel, ride his bicycle, hike, and kayak.

After practicing medicine for more than 20 years and serving as a head pastor of a church for nearly 11 years, Dr. Shadle was hired by the South Denver Hospitals of Centura Health in February 2015 to help bring CREATION Life principles to patients, associates, and community. In 2018 he transitioned to group vice president of mission integration and in 2021 his role expanded to all 19 Centura hospitals responsible for the spiritual care of patients, their families, associates, and community.

In his current role, he has implemented AdventHealth’s spiritual wholeness screening of all outpatients. This has been a highly successful initiative that has not only benefited patients, but also physicians, nurses, practice managers, and medical assistants.

Cynthia D. Stark

Cynthia D. Stark is on a mission to love and encourage people to live a whole and healthy life. She is a Christ-follower, devoted wife to her high school sweetheart, mother to four amazing kiddos, sister, friend, aunt, and healthcare executive. She loves creating meaningful moments with her family and friends; playing games, working out at Orange Theory, camping, traveling, cooking and everything music!

Cynthia began working in healthcare at Centura Health 10 years ago. During that time, she oversaw the occupational medicine division, streamlining operations and building relationships with key employers in the community. In 2020, she moved into a Director of Clinical Mission Integration. Her current role includes overseeing the mission and ministry program in over a hundred Centura outpatient facilities and ministering to hundreds of Centura employees.

Cynthia is passionate about the work she is doing in partnership with AdventHealth to implement the Spiritual Wholeness screening program throughout Centura’s community. This program seeks to assess the presence of love, joy, and peace in a patient’s life; all of which are robust indicators of a patient’s overall health and well-being. Cynthia enjoys collaborating with providers as they work to enrich their scope of patient care by addressing not only physical and mental health, but spiritual as well.
