Share the Life encourages members to foster a lifestyle of sharing Jesus. In addition, it trains and equips members and entire churches for soul-winning service for Christ.
Why Now?
For decades the Adventist Church in North America, including Upper Columbia Conference, has not had a very impressive growth rate -- about 1.5% per year. The reality is that when it comes to evangelism, we are just not reaching our communities the way we used to.
How it Starts
The purpose of Share the Life is simply to see more of our church excited and active in sharing Jesus with others.
It starts when we allow Jesus Christ to become the center of lives. Once we're fully consumed with Him, we can rediscover that passionate witness. We can't help but share Christ when He means everything to us.

How would we carry out our mission as a church if we had no money? That's a question the early Christian church faced.
How did the early church share the joy of a life lived in and for Christ without a large established organization? They did it through the individual, passionate witness of every disciple of Christ!
That is what must happen now--in the closing minutes of earth’s history. So, the purpose of “Share the Life” is simply to see more of our church excited and active in sharing Jesus with others. It is to help us become what Sister White saw we would be by the power of the Holy Spirit, right before the coming of Christ:
“In visions of the night, representations passed before me of a great reformatory movement among God’s people. Many were praising God. The sick were healed, and other miracles were wrought. A spirit of intercession was seen, even as was manifested before the great Day of Pentecost. Hundreds and thousands were seen visiting families and opening before them the word of God. Hearts were convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit, and a spirit of genuine conversion was manifest. On every side doors were thrown open to the proclamation of the truth. The world seemed to be lightened with the heavenly influence. Great blessings were received by the true and humble people of God.” 9T 126.
This is a picture of a healthy church. It is a church that is actively engaged in sharing Him. “Share the Life” is our response to this vision. This initiative has two focuses:
Personal & Corporate Revival
This starts with you and me. We must personally be completely consumed with Christ and in turn with what matters to Him – his lost children. Our greatest need is to see revival spread across our churches – starting with a radical and passionate recommitment of our own lives to Jesus.
Please friends – commit yourselves afresh to Him. Make Him your all in all. Let’s take down all of our personal “off-limits” signs, and let’s let the Holy Spirit convict us of where we are still holding back from being totally surrendered to Christ and His mission.
This also calls for us to invite our members - and teachers, our students, - to a full commitment to Christ. May our voices be prophetic in nature – inviting those whom we have been called to lead, to turn again to God. Let us pray together for this kind of revival; this baptism of the Holy Spirit!
We invite you to join our office staff every morning at 7:30am to pause and pray for this revival and for this baptism of the Holy Spirit. Invite your congregations to join in this united prayer movement as well.
Bible Worker Coordinators
In order to help our pastors equip, resource and support our members to engage in a lifestyle of evangelism – to help them share the joy of a life lived in Christ with their neighbors, family and friends, the conference will support the training and placement of a bible worker coordinator (BWC) in each of our 68 districts.
The purpose of these workers is not merely to do Bible work – but to help equip members to engage in a lifestyle of sharing Christ. To do this, the bible worker coordinator will work directly with the Pastor and a group of committed members (an outreach leadership team or OLT) to encourage a culture in the church that is externally focused, rather than internally focused.
Bible worker coordinators are funded through a partnership with the local church districts.
In short, for your church to participate, the following will need to happen:
- Church willingness to share in the expenses.
- Organization of an Outreach Team (see bible worker coordinator application for more information).
- Bible worker coordinator must have completed Bible work training.
We encourage you to take advantage of this plan and fill out an application as soon as possible so that we can place a trained Bible Worker Coordinator in your church district.
